EAPC Congress

Every year we organise a palliative care congress for our members and the wider global palliative care network and community. The 13th World Research Congress will be in Barecelona, Spain 16 – 18 May 2024. Click on the image to go to our congress page to find out more.

We are sorry to inform you that the upcoming 13th World Research Congress of the EAPC, 16 – 18 May 2024, in Barcelona, Spain has now reached full capacity, and the registration process is now closed. Unfortunately, we are restricted on the number of participants by the capacity of the venue. We are very sorry to disappoint those who wished to attend but have not yet registered for the event.

Our congress destinations are decided and booked at least two years in advance to enable us to plan effectively. We booked the venue in Barcelona during the uncertain times of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is the first in-person research congress since our cancelled event in Palermo in May 2020. We were therefore understandably cautious with our expectations.  We were pleasantly surprised with the attendance last year at the World Congress in Rotterdam. This year, we are overwhelmed by the interest and response to the World Research Congress, which traditionally attracts a smaller audience.

For those of you are unable to attend the congress in Barcelona, yet would have wished to do so, we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.

We are excited to announce that our next event, the 19th EAPC World Congress, will take place in Helsinki, Finland from 29 – 31 May 2025. This venue has capacity to accommodate everyone that wishes to attend and we really look forward to welcoming you to the Messukeskus congress centre. We have already started to work on the programme and are committed to delivering a comprehensive and engaging congress. Abstract submission will open in the summer of 2024.
