EAPC Congress

The European Association for Palliative Care (EAPC) is the leading palliative care organisation in Europe. The EAPC aims to advance, influence, promote and develop palliative care throughout Europe and beyond.

Every year we organise a palliative care congress in Europe for our members and the wider global palliative care network and community. Each year we alternate between the World Congress and the World Research Congress. The 19th World Congress will take place in Helsinki, Finland, 29-31 May 2025.

The EAPC Congress brings together the world’s leading palliative care experts, providing a key international platform to learn, network and share knowledge and research. The event offers a high quality educational experience, allowing participants to discover both innovative long-term strategies and solutions to challenges they meet in everyday practice. The congress is also a key opportunity for networking, affording those involved the opportunity to exchange ideas with hundreds of leading professionals and remain at the forefront of the latest developments in their field.

This gathering is a crucial event in helping to shape the future of palliative care around the globe. It brings together ideas and innovations aimed at improving the way we can practice, teach and learn. Participants can engage with a diverse audience and garner a wealth of insights that help transform their daily practice.

The growing recognition in society of the importance of palliative care is demonstrated by the increased interest in the EAPC congress each year. Up to 3,000 participants from around the world take part in the congress including clinicians, academics, educators, researchers, caregivers, volunteers, patient advocates and volunteers.
